Security and privacy: Your calls, looked after.
A plain-English overview of how we protect your business's calls and your callers' details. The Privacy Policy has the full detail.
How we protect it
Locked down, with your call records in Australia.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Everything travels over encrypted connections (TLS), and our servers, call recordings and backups are encrypted where they are stored, with industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
Call records stored in Australia
Your call records and recordings are stored in Australia, and your callers' data is never used to train AI. Live speech, call logs and alert emails are handled by our providers, some overseas, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Two-step sign-in
Every client account needs a password plus a code from an authenticator app on your phone.
Numbers and phones confirmed
Your business number and each team member's phone are confirmed with a 6-digit code call before we connect them, so nobody can set up a line for a number that isn't theirs.
Only your business sees your calls
Each business can only ever see its own calls. A small number of our own staff can access calls when they need to, to support you, fix a problem or run the service.
Your callers stay out of analytics
Our website uses analytics and advertising cookies to measure visits and how well our ads work. Your callers' details, call content and transcripts are never sent to them.
How long we keep it
Kept only as long as it's needed.
Most of it is removed automatically, on a fixed schedule.
- Caller details
- Phone numbers, names, messages, transcripts and summaries are removed after 12 months by default, or after the period a business agrees with us.
- Call recordings
- Deleted automatically after 90 days. Recording is off unless a business switches it on.
- Call alerts
- Emails already sent to a business stay in its inboxes, under its own policies.
AI and recording
Your callers' words stay yours.
No AI training on your callers
We don't use callers' or clients' information to train AI models, and model training is switched off with our AI providers for what we send them. The only exception is our enterprise custom AI service: if an enterprise client instructs us in writing, we use that client's own business information to train an AI model used only for that client. It's never shared with or used for anyone else.
Private AI for enterprise
For organisations that need dedicated infrastructure, we can run a private AI model for your business on our own servers in Australia, set up on request and tailored to how you work. About Enterprise
Recording is your choice
Recording is off unless you switch it on, for the conversation with the assistant or the whole call. Callers are told the call is recorded before recording starts, and recordings are deleted after 90 days.
A recording notice in the greeting
Your greeting says "This call may be recorded." unless you switch it off, and it stays on whenever you record calls. You also choose whether your assistant tells callers up front that it's a virtual receptionist. Either way, it never pretends to be a person when asked.

FAQ
Privacy, answered.
Still wondering? Ring 07 3608 1800 and ask our receptionist, or email [email protected].
Where is my data kept?
Call records, transcripts and recordings are stored in Australia, and your callers' data is never used to train AI models. Caller details, messages and transcripts are removed after 12 months by default. Live speech, call logs and alert emails are handled by our providers, some overseas, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Can calls be recorded?
If you want them to be. Recording is off unless you switch it on, either for the conversation with the assistant or for the whole call. Callers are told the call is recorded before recording starts, and recordings are deleted after 90 days.
Will callers know it is AI?
That is up to you. New accounts start with "tell callers up front" on, so it introduces itself as your virtual receptionist, and you can switch that off. Either way, if a caller asks, it says it is a virtual receptionist and never pretends to be a person.
Who can see my calls?
Only the people with a login to your business's account. Each business can only ever see its own calls. A small number of our own staff can access calls when they need to, to support you, fix a problem or run the service.
How is my account protected?
Every client account uses two-step sign-in: your password plus a code from an authenticator app on your phone. Information is encrypted when it travels over the internet, and recordings are kept in private, encrypted storage.
